India -Edward VII -Post Card - Insignia ( 2 standing lions ) of Erstwhile East India Company

1 ) Even during 1901- 11 the insignia ( 2 standing lions ) of the erstwhile East India Company , whose rule ended in 1858 after the The First War of Independence   printed on these Postal Cards.

2 ) Like in the coins  of Edward VII  the Crown is not placed directly on Edward 's head . In the silver coins in fact the crown is on the Reverse side. In local parlance Edward coins were called " RODA " meaning "BALD Y " sikkey .
