This 1794 copper one Pie ( EIC - in Heart Insignia and on reverse Tarazu ) is one of the earliest specimens of Steam Machined coin ( in Soho Mint of England )
Soho Mint had minting coins for East India Company using Boulton And Watt Steam Engine run machines , even before they started making coins for British Government .
Before 1835 standardization ( common coinage ) Bombay Presidency produced separate coins. It is interesting to note Aden ( Yemen ) then was part of Bombay Presidency and these coins circulated in Adan also ( note the Persian Script )
This coin has a Rotational Error ( Obverse and Reverse mismatch of 180 o , or like 12 o Clock and 6 o clock ) thus making is very rare.
